"I'm not talking to you! You're the only one in the world who...": Zverev in crisis against Arnaldi loses his mind

Alexander Zverev managed to access the second round of the ATP 500 Mexican tournament in Acapulco in the past few hours. He did so by beating our Matteo Arnaldi in his debut match with a score of 6-7(2) 6-3 6-4 , in a match that lasted two hours and 46 minutes of play.

For the German, number two in the world, it was not an easy match, especially in the opening stages. The first set was lost with a bad game and nerves against the chair umpire, for his decision to give him a warning for a time violation in his first service game of the match.

A decision that infuriated the world number two, who asked for the supervisor's intervention: "I don't want to talk to you and you are the only person in the world who gave a warning for a time violation in the first game", he said. But then Zverev calmed down and found his game again, managing to come back from behind against Arnaldi. In the second round, he will now face the American qualifier Learner Tien , who got the better of Cameron Norrie in his debut.

Regrets also for the other Italian in the game, Mattia Bellucci , also beaten in three sets. The 23-year-old from Busto Arsizio, fished out as a lucky loser , dominated the first set but suffered a comeback from the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina , who won 1-6 7-6(6) 6-2. Many regrets, especially for the four match points not exploited in the tie-break of the second set, in which Bellucci was ahead 6-2.
